Motorcycling Videos

There are many excellent, hilarious or just plain stupid motorcycling videos available all over. It's sometimes hard to discriminate the good from the bad, so we'll do the hard work for you. Each one comes with a short description and our opinion of it, so you won't have to waste time on those you are not interested in. If you have any good ones to submit, please enter the URL below.

1.8 Mile wheelie on BMW R1200GSA

On the long, straight roads of Southern Africa, this guy manages to pop a 3 kilometer wheelie on his BMW R1200GS Adventure. As Charley Boorman showed on Long Way Down, a fully loaded GSA wheelies quite easily, but you need to admire the balance and throttle control here. It's not the most exciting video, sure, but I'd rather watch this than some poor guy wiping out. In general, we will not post videos of crashes on this site, unless there is some specific instructive value to them. Or if they're not serious, and very funny.

Brainrotting it across a Colombian bridge

The local name of this bridge translates to, "You will crap yourself". This is part of a series of videos, many worth watching. Just feel very, very lucky that you have never had to cross this bridge. Again, it's just riding in a straight line, but it shows you don't need curves for exciting riding.

BMW R1150GS being towed

Lest we be regarded as entirely too biased toward the BMW, we present this video of a Suzuki towing an R1150GS. Short, but it shows that you should never get too cocky about your bike.

Grand Canyon Motorcycle Trip

A short video by www.motorcycleUSA.com about a trip to the Grand Canyon. Although one wishes there was a lot more footage, it does give a nice idea of the great off-road riding available there, and will certainly make you want to get on your bike.

BMW R1200RT through Scotland

Scotland is a magnificent country to tour in. With gorgeous scenery and narrow mountain roads, there's a lot of biking to be done. But beware of Scottish drivers - they do not always deem to take into acount that they may have to share a one-lane two-way road with oncoming drivers. Usually the weather does not play along either; I suspect they put together this video from the only  footage they had where it wasn't raining.

Erzbergrodeo 2010

You think you can ride off-road? Watching these guys makes me realize that I really, really can't

Slow riding at its finest

Okay, so if I can't ride off-road, at least I can take pride in my slow-riding skills, can't I?

Damn it.

Going through holes

This technique probably won't be news to most experienced motorcyclists, but if you've just made the transition from a pure touring motorcycle to a dual purpose bike, it's good to take note of it. Basically, it's better to stand up and open up when approaching a sinkhole than to brake and let the front end compress.
